Sneak peak #4: Lophelina

Welcome to the fourth addition of our thread of blog posts! Every week, get a ,Sneak Peak‘ into the scientific stories our team is now finalizing. We share a little excerpt from one of the stories and chat with the authors about the inspiration and motivation for their story.

This week, we talked to our team member and scientist Leonardo Tamborrino , about his story, ‚Leophelina‘.

My story is about Lophelina, a young Coral girl who had to move away from her father Pertusa because she was not able to live in Corallia, the magnificent city build by the Corals with the help of their Algae friends. Since she was a child she had to live in the deep ocean with the grumpy auntie Madrepora.

One day, Lophelina, tired and frustrated, asked to go to Corallia, to see the wonderful city and to finally meet her father. Unfortunately, aunt Madrepora had to tell the truth, Corallia no longer exists ….
