This week, we talked to our team member and scientist Chritiane Schmidt, about her story, ‚Climate Ghost busters‘.

My story describes a team of three scientists who become ghost hunters in New-York in the year 2099. Climate ghosts threaten the life in New York by stealing the life energy of people and attacking them. The sudden occurrence of the climate ghosts in the story is likely associated with strong weather events because of the ongoing anthropogenic climate change. I try to convey the danger associated with the production of greenhouse gases, which can lead to more severe environmental problems in the future. The story and illustrations introduce also the scientist in detail and their work. The vehicle to hunt the ghosts is equipped with various renewable energies. Will the climate ghost busters succeed in saving the inhabitants of New York? You can now discover in my story.

Meine Geschichte beschreibt eine Geisterjagdt in New York im Jahr 2099. Dabei werden drei Wissenschaftler zu Klimageisterjägern. Die Klimageister sind eine Bedrohung für die Menschen in New-York, weil sie ihre Lebensenergie stehlen und sie überfallen. Das plötzliche Auftrete dieser steht in der Geschichte wahrscheinlich mit Schlechtwetterereignissen im Zusammenhang, welche durch den anthropogenen Klimawandel hervorgerufen werden. Ich möchte die Gefahr des Klimawandels vermitteln, welche mit der erhöhten Produktion von klimawirksamen Gasen einhergeht. Dies wird in Zukunft vermehrt zu Umweltproblemen führen. Die Geschichte und die Abbildungen beschreiben auch im Detail die Wissenschaftler und ihre Arbeit. Das Auto der Klimageisterjäger ist mit erneuerbaren Energien ausgestattet, welche dem Leser vorgestellt werden.
